Working on some basil soap packaging this week. I'm so behind with this, its embarrassing. In other news; ABC Eyewitness news came by yesterday and filmed Nicolette and I teaching a little (albeit, fake) flower class. Sensational!

What else is new? I went to see Dr. David Helfland lecture at Rockefeller University on Monday about life in in other solar systems. I got to see Elyse at work in the lab pipetting stuff.... watched some microscopic worms under a microscope.

and today?

ALANIS MORISSETTE.
I just went there.

I'm stocking up on blowsy floral print dresses and denim jackets, think elaine from seinfeld. oh hell yes.

a wedding from october

One of my favorite couples/weddings from this fall....Rae and Noah have great style...seeing these makes me miss October and of course the dahlias. Love the Betsy Dunlap invites. Love the Metropolitan Building. Love gorgeous photos by Dave Robbins. Love the details pulled together by Xochitl of Always a Bridesmaid.

See more at Martha Stewart...

WELCOME TO SOAKYOURPLANTS.com, the home of thriving houseplants!!!

We'll make your foliage family healthy and happy again by teaching your the basics of soaking terra-cotta-potted plants in the bathtub. No special equipment required! Once you start soaking terra cotta, you'll never look back!

*****
Just follow these two simple steps:

Step 1. Fill the tub with approx. 4 inches of water
Step 2. Put in your terra cotta planted pots in the water
SOAK THEM FOR ABOUT 1/2 and hour THEN SIT BACK AND LET YOUR PLANTS THANK YOU!

***
Got it? Let's recap:
Ya fill the tub - you put in your plants! Presto, waterlogged terracotta pots that help your plants stay moist in a dry apartment. Watch your plants come back to life! I say "Ressurect" sweet maidenhair fern! "Overcome" begonia tigress!! It's like sparkly voodoo houseplant magic!!!

FROZEN CORNEAS

i think i want some sled dogs! my new calling!
I mean, just look at these little...SUGAR MUFfins:

But in my prelim research this AM I came across this little tidbit: "In 2004, Doug Swingley, a four-time Iditarod winner, pulled out of the race with frostbitten corneas after taking off his goggles to see the trail when the wind chill was 90 below zero." So I reconsider..

I just ordered sushi for one. I'm going to chow down and then practice my Queen Nefertiti style makeup application. My weekend starts now, son.

I been reading here and there in the Sontag Diaries, a book stolen from Eric, because stolen books are that much better. (Which bookmark is mine?! -- an acute dilemma in the Sontag because there's plenty of passages ideal for drifting off to, and loosing your place. I say that with all respect for the woman, she was - in a word - brilliant, but come on - its a diary.)

Anyway this morning I stumbled upon the most beautiful quote: "I shall anticipate pleasure everywhere and find it, too, for it is everywhere! I shall involve myself wholly...everything matters![...]I am alive...I am beautiful...what else is there?"

So there, this just became a forum for the inspirational.
