Never been able to grow yarrow, but love it. Fortunately I have a good source for cottage yarrow. It's not a secret; Bernadette from River Garden grows them and I feel lucky today for that. You can find her flowers at the Union Square Green market Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The peach color is my favorite.

We're in between weddings here mid-week. I have not shared a lot of wedding stuff here lately, have I? Well here's a bit from our last wedding at Bedford Post Inn.
I guess lots of time I just don't have the energy to talk about weddings here. Many of these events take a lot out of me...attempt to restore my energy and enthusiasm for flowers with a little color study like the one above, share it here, bask in your comments for a few days :) and then go back into the thick of it. That's right I did just emoticon you. Weird, right?

I've been avoiding the computer and the internet a lot lately. Quit my facebook. Thinking of quitting twitter too...it sucks my time and I'd rather just look out the window than know who's boinking who (metaphorically) in the blog-o-sphere. but it's weird how addictive that shit is, we discussed this at lunch today. how you check those things 40 times a day to find out what's happening (nothing)
just a lot of borrowed images tumbling around. lots of cats self mythologizing in 46 characters or less, furiously licking each other... grooming one another
>:(

but then there's martha. twittering away out there in Seoul, now western China. her twitter feed is one of a few little gems in the rough and tumble of useless drab. so i'll probably keep on keeping on for now..
my twitter, my titillation

this apparently means rock on, so there it is.

I love yarrow. It was love at first sight, so slight and subtle.

I go back and forth, I hate Facebook one day and then turn around and think it is a great place to keep in touch. Really it is just a royal fucking waste of time. Is it really helping my blog? The only thing helping my blog is the content. Time wasted checking on exactly what is not happening on FB could be spent reading actual things that are happening places such as this gem. Fuck Facebook once and for all.
Twitter? I get sucked in, it provides very little in return. People really just stroke each other and rarely give time to anyone who is not a big name.

Wow nelly - there is my honest thoughts on social media... waste of time!

I feel the same way about Facebook...I hardly use it and never really got addicted to it. The times I do go on I always feel like I'm stalking people or wasting time. It is a great way to stay in touch with people but most of those people you end up adding on Facebook you'd probably avoid talking to if you ran into them on the street. I still use my twitter but am sick of everyone trying to be smug all the time. sigh.. anyways lovely photos.

Yarrow = Cool.
Facebook = Meh.
Twitter = Like.

Got a funeral to attend in upstate New York next month. Hope to swing down and see you, G!

I get what you're saying but I do enjoy your random tweets. And that yarrow, wow.

i recommend you read super sad true love story, if you haven't already.

yarrow does well out here, maybe it's too humid out east?

it's difficult to permanently 'delete' your fb acct. it took me a couple tries.

wow, that yarrow is way cooler than the run-of-the-mill stuff I have. I love yarrow, don't get me wrong, but I wish the blooms paired a bit better with that soft, gorgeous foliage, not so bright. Still, I was over the moon when I realized that the house we rent had a yarrow plant, and even more thrilled when it survived a transplant (someone had planted the poor thing under the eaves of a house - I mean, sure, it's drought tolerant, but c'mon! It didn't even bloom last year because it got like NO water).

me, I use the fb. Mostly to keep up with friends who are in Paris, Stockholm, Perugia, South America...all over. I'm not much good on the phone, and even a periodic check-in keeps us connected for the next time one of us is in each other's hoods. THat, I like. But yes, it does have dangerous potential.

Never got to tweeting myself. Couldn't take the noun or the verb seriously. I still scoff. =)

Yarrow...you've got me looking at it in a whole new way.

Sometimes I think I'm the last person on earth without a FB account. The thought of Twitter just makes me tired.

Can't get my head around twitter, seems like another reflection of the tyranny of busyness that people get sucked into...don't have time for more than 46 characters, must rush. Whoa, I get tired thinking of that pace. Peace is at every step, stop and smell the yarrow, and maybe even write a full paragraph about it.
